KINNERET, ISRAEL | JUNE 12 - 18 2023

33 leaders, scholars, and activities from 15 countries gathered alongside the Kinneret to explore three important values in  Jewish life today: Peoplehood, Responsibility, and Hope. With considerable input and support from our outstanding international faculty,, the Fellows were able to address the fundamental transformations taking place within Jewish life personally, communally, and nationally. Through the multi-faceted program that included presentations, panels, art, music, film and texts, the Fellows were challenged to formulate Jewish responses to contemporary challenges, and explore what  binds Jews as a people today.

The week was highlighted by an environment filled with eagerness to both learn and connect, as Yos Tarshish, one our participants from Canada put it: “I’m so inspired by the wisdom shared, the conversations had, and the global Jewish community’s vibrancy.”

The real diversity of the Fellows, culturally, religiously and politically, created a dynamic space for learning, growth and self-reflection. Each Fellow brought with them  a wealth of knowledge and a unique Jewish experience  that emphasized both the differences and similarities of our communities, and participants were able to share ideas and best practices with each other.

Holding the 33rd International in Israel as it celebrates its 75th birthday, ensured that. Israel, its place in our lives and its future were of particular significance to the Fellows and to the program as a whole.
