Professor J.J. Schacter, University Professor of Jewish History at Yeshiva University and a veteran faculty member of previous NGF programs, served as the international scholar-in-residence for this NGF. He delivered several insightful presentations during the program. Additionally, Dr. Jerry Hochbaum, Executive Vice President of the MFJC delivered the opening plenary address.

The Regional South African NGF was planned and organized by two alumni: Rael Kaimowitz, a prominent lay leader and vice-chair of the Cape South African Jewish Board of Deputies (SAJBD), and David Jacobson, Executive Director of the Cape SAJBD.

A unique feature of this NGF was its scheduling to coincide with the Annual General Meeting of the Cape SAJBD. The NGF Fellows attended the AGM, where some delivered formal presentations, while others contributed to discussions from the floor. This interaction facilitated a productive exchange between the senior leadership of the South African Jewish community and the diverse young voices represented by the Fellows, resulting in meaningful dialogue and engagement.
